The exhibition The three greats of Spain: three visions, one legacy" tells the genesis and development of the avant-gardes of the twentieth century through three of its greatest exponents: Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, and Salvador Dalí.

Three artists, three unique and revolutionary perspectives, a shared legacy that has forever transformed the face of modern art, developing symbols and languages that still influence our contemporaneity today.

The exhibition path, articulated in five sections, retraces the fundamental stages of their history: the formation, the cultural ferment of Catalonia - the birthplace for Miró and Dalí and the artistic initiation for Picasso - and the influence of Modernism and Noucentisme.

From breaking with academic canons to moving to the Paris of the avant-gardes, the exhibition tells how each one elaborated a radically personal language, contributing to shaping the artistic panorama of the last century.

The heart of the exhibition is dedicated to Surrealism, as a means of expressing the unconscious and individual identity, with a focus on the Spanish contribution, active between Madrid, Barcelona, Tenerife, and Zaragoza.

The over 250 works come from institutions such as the Museo Reina Sofia, the Picasso museums of A Coruña and Barcelona, the Fundación Luis Seoane, and the Museo de Artes del Grabado, as well as from important private collections, and include works rarely exhibited in Italy.

Beyond the celebration of the myth, the exhibition reflects a history marked by wars and dictatorships.
