The Olympic Museum, located at Quai d’Ouchy 1 in Lausanne, is the only official museum of the International Olympic Committee and houses the largest and most comprehensive collection in the world dedicated to the Olympic Games and the Olympic movement. Inaugurated in 1993 and renovated in 2013 with new interactive and exhibition spaces, it offers approximately 3,000 m² of exhibition space divided into three thematic floors: the origin of Olympism, the Games themselves, and the Olympic spirit in action.
The permanent collection contains over 1,500 exclusive items, including original Olympic torches, medals, costumes from the opening ceremonies, mascots, and sports equipment from famous athletes. Extensive screens and video stations revisit legendary historical moments such as the modern Olympics, the Youth Games, and the Paralympic Games.
The visit is enriched by interactive installations, immersive experiences, and games of mental and physical agility: visitors can perceive the athletes' performances, test their own balance or speed, for an engaging educational experience suitable for all ages.
