The Municipal Antiquarium was established in 1997 with finds donated by private individuals, to supplement the surviving collection of the Antiquarium of the Thirties, and is divided into four rooms within the Procojo di Borgo Sabotino, the ancient nineteenth-century proto-industrial structure for the processing of milk.In the first room cartographic and photographic material relating to the birth of the Borgo is exhibited. The population of the Agro Pontino is documented by prehistoric finds, by architectural, sculptural and clay fragments found during the reclamation works, as well as by original cartography of the XVII-XVIII century. which testifies to the great transformations of the territory: from finds dated from 500,000 to 6,000 years ago we move on to the lithic industry of the Pontinian Mousterian found along the Astura, Gorgolicino-Cicerchia valleys and on the paleo shores of Lake Fogliano. Didactic equipment relating to the geological formation of the area accompany the visitor. In the next two rooms, epigraphic, sculptural, clay and architectural material is exhibited, a sampling of imported marbles and an interesting sampling of ex-voto (terracotta, lead and bronze), stamps bricks and finds related to weaving. There is also a collection of finds related to the ancient routes and the stowage of amphorae (anchor stocks, types of amphorae, objects found in wrecks, etc.). Lamps, Etruscan-Roman, Magno-Greek, Campanian and Roman vases are exhibited in various showcases to document the ancient frequentation of Pontine places. The numismatic section has been transferred there from the "M.Valeriani" Museum.
