Within the project THE SUBTLE LINE OF UMBRIA, on Sunday, June 30th at 6.00 pm, Palazzo Ducale in Gubbio hosts the exhibition Pompeian Interior by Luigi Spina, author of numerous photographic investigations that focus on the search for beauty and prestigious campaigns, including "Canova Sketching in Clay" for the National Gallery in Washington and the new image of Magna Graecia with the General Directorate of Museums, Ministry of Culture.

The exhibition starts from the photographer's investigation inside over one hundred and twenty domus in Pompeii, giving life primarily to the homonymous editorial project by 5 Continents Editions, a book of almost 300 large-format color photographs, with essays by Massimo Osanna, Gabriel Zuchtriegel, Carlo Rescigno, and Giuseppe Scarpati, in addition to Spina himself.

The investigation began during the closure to the public due to the pandemic of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, then directed by Massimo Osanna.

Through 42 large-format color photographs, printed on fine art paper, the exhibition at Palazzo Ducale in Gubbio (until October 6, 2024) tells the unique condition that allowed Spina to "inhabit" Pompeii and "live" in its houses, thus being able to follow the shaping of natural light throughout the days and capture the nuances in the multiple environments of his shots.

The exhibition harmonizes perfectly with the Eugubine residence of Federico da Montefeltro, both for the enhancement of traces of human presence and for the dimension of time and light that 'tame' in the greatness of power: an opportunity for comparison with the fragment, the discovery of a world that posed the same questions and that often had the ability to find answers in the only possible place.
