The Musée des Impressionnismes is a museum in Giverny entirely dedicated to Impressionism, its consequences in the artistic field and its international diffusion. It is based in Giverny, a small town in Normandy, in which Monet settled permanently starting from 1883, and which inspired many of his paintings. Inaugurated in 2009, the pmuseo aims to explain and shed light on Impressionism: its origins, its geographical differences, its history and its evolution. Situated on the side of the hill, the opaque beige limestone wall building highlights the moorlands, prolonged by flower beds surrounded by hedges. A construction open to the outside thanks to large glass doors. A beautiful homage to nature, so present in the works created by impessionist painters. The museum also hosts, every year, temporary exhibitions that address the themes of this pictorial movement that continues, after about two centuries, to fascinate nature lovers.
