Banca Carige Art and Culture
The building of Banca Carige , then Cassa di Risparmio di Genova and Imperia , was built in Genoa in 1966.
The furnishings and interiors, despite their modernity, take up the style of the ancient palaces of the Genoese bankers of the sixteenth century , as if to celebrate the new era of development represented by the then "economic miracle" that the renovated bank lent itself to accompany.
In the premises of the building of the Genoese headquarters it is thus possible to admire, together with a suggestive panorama of the historic center of the city, the art collections that Banca Carig has established over the years, with purchases from important private collections, favoring art Ligurian and Genoese in particular. Paintings, majolica, engravings and coins trace a path within the history of the city of Genoa, from the dawn of its fortune as a free medieval municipality to the exceptional splendor of the "century of the Genoese", in the middle of the Baroque period.
