An original and evocative view of the great statuary of the monumental cemetery of Staglieno through the lens of the Genoese photographer Vittorio Puccio.
Vittorio Puccio's work at Staglieno took place over a period of three years, starting from 2022. Out of the shots (over fifty), 13 were selected for the exhibition, while the entire work can be appreciated in the catalog published by De Ferrari. For this project, Puccio used an unusual and decidedly emotional approach. The photos were taken using multiple flashes to which colored gels were applied to achieve the coloring of the statues.
The work carried out by the renowned Genoese photographer Vittorio Puccio is a project that manages to surprise with its personal and innovative interpretative choice, transforming and recreating our visual contact and consequently our way of looking. The warm chromatic tones used by Puccio, in the variety of interpretations guided by the sensations that the various colors evoke, allow us to share the thought outlined by Kandinsky in which: "Color is a means of exerting a direct influence on the soul. Color is a keyboard, the eye is the hammer that strikes it, the soul is the instrument with a thousand strings. The artist is the hand that, by touching this or that key, causes the soul to vibrate."
A photographic exhibition by Vittorio Puccio and a project curated by Fondazione De Ferrari ETS and La Generale Genova as part of the events "Genova nell’800".
