August 3 – 15, 2025

The Ugo Guidi Museum - MUG in Forte dei Marmi for the 203rd exhibition presents the exhibition "Homage to Pier Paolo Pasolini" by the artists Gino Berardi - Roberto di Giampaolo - Mauro Giangrande - Giuseppe and Lorenzo Liberati - Lucio Monaco - Franco Secone - Gianfranco Zazzeroni.

On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the death of Pier Paolo Pasolini, the art critic Dr. Giuseppe Bacci has brought together seven talented Abruzzese artists who, with their works, have decided to pay tribute to the great intellectual through a series of contemporary art exhibitions that will take place in various Italian locations.

The first exhibition took place at the Carlo D'Orta ArtStudio/Gallery in Rome. The exhibition then moved to Monteprandone, at the Sala Nazareno Luciani in Centobuchi.
The initiative, promoted and curated by the Seven artists, aims to celebrate the figure of Pasolini, a symbol of courage, truth, and civil commitment, with works that reflect his complexity and revolutionary thinking.

The Abruzzese artists involved are Gino Berardi, Roberto Di Giampaolo, Mauro Giangrande, Lorenzo and Giuseppe Liberati (ceramists, collaborative works), Lucio Monaco, Franco Secone, and Gianfranco Zazzeroni. Each of them contributed with original works, including 18 canvases of various sizes and three pieces in refractory majolica, all dedicated to the figure of Pasolini. The works were created according to the techniques and visions of each artist, creating a mosaic of interpretations that reflect the complexity and depth of Pasolini's thinking. The project stems from a manifesto signed by the artists, emphasizing the importance of remembering and discussing a man who paid with his life for his coherence and his desire for truth. "We believe that a poet, a writer, a director, a man who realistically photographed his time, analyzing and predicting the aberrations of society, should be remembered, studied, and shared," the artists state. The exhibition aims to be a tribute to his figure, but also a message to the new generations: the importance of being attentive and respectful in the search for truth, even at the cost of suffering violence, as unfortunately happened to Pasolini.
After Rome and Monteprandone, the exhibition was hosted in Città Sant'Angelo as part of the event "From Etna to Gran Sasso," then in Atessa, in Forte dei Marmi in August, and in November in Sanremo, at the Casino's Halls. Other dates and locations are also being defined, including Naples, Pescara, Milan, and Casarsa della Delizia in Friuli, Pasolini's mother's hometown, where his remains rest.
The exhibited works, characterized by diversity and stylistic complexity, convey a universal message: the importance of keeping alive the memory of a man who challenged conformity and fought for truth. Through this initiative, the Abruzzese artists launch an appeal to present and future generations to continue to respect and pursue the search for truth, even when it entails risks and sacrifices.
