The Casa Museo Ugo Guidi (MUG) is a small private museum that testifies to the fruitful cultural season of the second half of the 20th century present in Forte dei Marmi. Ugo Guidi (1912-1977) created his works here and maintained relationships with his colleagues and friends such as Treccani, Carrà, De Grada, Funi, Soffici, Migneco, Cassinari, Cagli, Afro, Dova, Campigli, Greco, Rosai, Maccari, Bueno, etc.
The Guidi house was not only a studio where the master conceived and created most of his works, but also a gathering place for artists and intellectuals. Currently, over 400 works can be admired here, including sculptures, drawings, and temperas, ranging from the 1940s to 1977, showcasing the artistic development of the Master along with documents, photographs, and letters from his colleagues and friends.
Today, it is a cultural venue where exhibitions of contemporary artists are set up, engaging in dialogue through works, videos, performances, and installations with Ugo Guidi's works.
Since 2005, the Amici del Museo Ugo Guidi association has made the museum collections accessible and carries out this activity of artistic education and enhancement of excellence with tenacity and free of charge; since 2023, the Association is ETS.
The Casa Museo Ugo Guidi is included as a museum in the Cultural System of the Tuscany Region, in the list of Houses of Memory of the same region, and in the photographic archives of the provinces of Lucca and Massa-Carrara.

The Casa Museo Ugo Guidi is included in the Cultural Sites of the MiBAC, has been opened by FAI, the National Association of Houses of Memory, and the Association of Historic Italian Residences, and is featured in the TCI, ACI, and Lonely Planet guides. The MUG has been included by Google on a global level in The Guide-Tab.Travel, in Wikimedia (Wikipedia), and in "Ugo Guidi digital" by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage - MIC, on the MUSEOITALIA website.
