The Museum of Natural Sciences of Brescia was born from the donation of the University of Brescia in 1903. Until 1968 it was located in the castle and subsequently a special building was built as the definitive seat. The exhibition venue is located inside a garden designed as a botanical path. The garden includes many tree species from Northern Italy, including beech and spruce. The Museum houses a collection of paleontological, entomological, zoological, botanical and geological finds. In addition, there is a section dedicated to the collections of minerals, prehistoric archeology and the mountains, with particular attention to the Brescia area. Today the Science Museum is one of the most important centers for the dissemination of naturalistic thought.
