Giacomo Camician Chemistry Collection

Since 1990 a series of exhibition areas have been set up, connected in a logical path, which winds from the atrium to the second floor and which evokes, with the help of period furnishings, the atmosphere of the chemical laboratories. from the early 1900s.

The beginning of the itinerary, in the atrium of the department, is marked by the recomposition of an area with furnishings traditionally considered to belong to Giacomo Ciamician's studio and continues in the corridors on the ground floor with a series of cabinets containing scientific and didactic equipment. Various ancient texts belonging to the archives of the department's library are displayed on showcases on the first floor. Finally, on the second floor, you can see a wooden laboratory hood, the only remaining evidence of the original Art Nouveau furnishings of the Institute's laboratories (20s of the last century) and numerous equipment dating back to the late 1800s - early 1900s. .
