From 26 February to 20 July 2025
From February 26th to July 20th, 2025, the rooms of Palazzo Pallavicini will host, for the first time ever in Italy, an exhibition dedicated to the renowned Scottish Artist Jack Vettriano (Fife, November 17, 1951), a painter beloved by the Italian and international public, organized and realized by Chiara Campagnoli, Deborah Petroni, and Rubens Fogacci of Pallavicini s.r.l., with the collaboration of the Artist and curated by Dr. Francesca Bogliolo.
Born in a town in Scotland to a family of Italian origin, Jack Vettriano started working at a young age to contribute to the family finances, and only at the age of twenty-one did he start painting as a self-taught artist, after receiving a set of brushes and watercolors as a gift. Almost fifteen years later, he managed to exhibit in a professional artistic environment, and during his debut exhibition, on the first day of the show, both of his presented paintings were sold, marking the beginning of his prestigious career.
His paintings recall the noir genre, often with romantic themes and nudes in the foreground, and with his peculiar style that evokes sensual atmospheres and dramatic dimensions, Vettriano has managed to captivate the general public since his first exhibition in 1988 at the Royal Scottish Academy. From that moment until today, interest in his work has constantly increased, and in 2004 Queen Elizabeth awarded him the OBE honor for services to the visual arts.
Palazzo Pallavicini offers for the first time to the Italian public the opportunity to delve into the figure of one of the best-selling and most reproduced artists of all time, through a journey that includes more than 70 works alternating between oils, limited edition prints created specifically for Palazzo Pallavicini, and the splendid shots in Jack Vettriano's studio taken by Francesco Guidicini, the official portraitist of the "Sunday Times" whose works are present at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
