As part of the Thinking like a mountain project and in tandem with the ninth edition of the Gherdëina Biennale , curated by Lorenzo Giusti, a tribute exhibition dedicated to the work of the artist Lin May Saeed (1973- 2023).

May Saeed has dedicated her research to the animal world and to the relationships between human and non-human animals, developing a new iconography of interspecies solidarity.

His practice, which ranges from sculpture to bas-relief , from drawing to carved paper , often preferring polystyrene , focuses on the production of works populated by animals of different geographical origins and human figures taken from stories, fables and myths, creating intercultural narratives and interspecies projects that project themselves into an alternative common future .

The installation in the Spazio Zero of the GAMeC will focus on animal figures - including dogs, pangolins, panthers, hyenas, calves, anteaters and jackals - and will give emphasis to the centrality that the artist intends to restore to them as opposed to the condition of subalternity to which they humanity has relegated them. Represented through full-scale sculptures and bas-reliefs, animals become absolute protagonists in the exhibition space as individuals with their own psychology, and not as objects .

The exhibitions are accompanied by a paperback publication published by Mousse Publishing which offers the English, Italian, Arabic and Ladin speaking public the fairy tales originally written in German by May Saeed. Illustrated with a selection of drawings on paper by the artist, the volume is introduced by a text by Lorenzo Giusti.
