From 2 April to 23 July 2017
The “ Templers ” exhibition was inaugurated at the Catalan History Museum on April 2, 2017 and ended on July 23 of the same year. The summary of the exhibition can also be found on the museum's website.
The Knights Templar have captured the imagination of several generations. Novels and legends have collaborated to fuel a myth that has often overcome the barrier of reality.
The exhibition became the first major exhibition in Catalonia dedicated to discovering in a rigorous and attractive way who the Templars really were, taking visitors to such an exciting episode in world history as the Crusades .
Organized by the Museum of the History of Catalonia and curated by historian Ramon Sarobe , the exhibition showed the real importance of the Templar heritage and invited the viewer to reflect on the fact of religious violence, a reality which unfortunately has not yet been overcome today.
