Paolo De Stefani was born in 1969 in Chiavenna in the province of Sondrio, where he currently lives and works. In the early nineties, he attended private painting courses where he developed and perfected his adolescent attraction to drawing. The essentially figurative stylistic signature that characterized his work in the early nineties gives way to a research always on the edge between informal art, poor art, and abstract expressionism. The beginning of the new millennium marks a significant turning point in his research. The year 2000 saw the first works structured by evident overlaps of papers placed in wooden cases. The first sculptures made of cardboard soaked in enamels were born.
