Description

In the years of production for Poggi, we are sometimes faced with real "pets", which Albini evoked in his designs. One of these is certainly the Cicognino "valet stand" table produced in 1952: one of the three slender legs stretches to become "handle-beak", making it easy to transport the object. The support surface is surrounded by a sheet of wood so as to become a tray. As has been observed by M. Fagiolo, the "Cicognino" is an object that seems to have come out of Walt Disney's pencil, and an extremely current design still appears to our eyes (it is no coincidence that it is part of Albini's design pieces included in production with the Cassina company).
