Marsina and undershirt in brown woolen cloth with silver and ivory embroidery, dating back to the end of the eighteenth century and coming from the Dohrn collection, a high-class family of the Polish intellectual Anton Dohrn, founder and first director of the Zoological Station of Naples. The artefact is one of the few examples of 18th century men's clothing in the possession of the museum institution.

Black velvet cape with polychrome needlepoint embroidery, a technique that combines the painted parts with the embroidered ones. Also called needle portraiture, it is part of the larger sector of needle painting and was highly appreciated since the 17th century for its speed of execution and the splendid final effect. It became the favorite hobby of the ladies of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

Two-piece dress consisting of skirt and bodice in black velvet with sequin applications, datable to around the end of the 19th century and part of the Adelaide del Balzo Pignatelli collection, Neapolitan noblewoman, well-known Italian educator, writer and philanthropist who lived between the 19th and 20th centuries century. It is an example of the work of the well-known tailor's shop Claire Juteau, present in Naples since the end of the nineteenth century located in Piazza Vittoria, 6. The atelier acquired enormous prestige in the Neapolitan capital managing to represent Naples at the Turin International Exhibition of 1911 in the Fashion Pavilion.

Precious pale green silk dress with small train, lace inserts and hand embroidery, dating back to 1906. The dress belonged to the noblewoman Speranza Di Martino, part of the Sergio family, house decorated with the title of baron by Royal Decree in 1859.

Degradé mustard-colored chiffon dress with floral embroidery bodice in red and gold sequins and lead coral, with chiffon shrug. The specimen was made between 1940-45 ca. from Maria Consiglio Fashion tailoring by Maria Consiglio Picone whose success in those years was by now consolidated. In 1954 the atelier found location in an apartment in Piazza dei Martiri in the well-known Palazzo Calabritto.

Sleeveless dress with “American” neckline in yellow smocked organza with matching shrug. It represents one of the most interesting examples of the work of Fausto Sarli - famous Neapolitan tailor of which the Museum preserves 53 original creations - for the particular tailoring execution and the use of a technique originally used for work clothes. Heavy wool morning suit with gray-black striped trousers and beige waistcoat. Made by the well-known Neapolitan tailor Vincenzo Attolini in the sixties, a period in which "the king of tailors" became a pioneer of refinement and avant-garde. Attolini re-proposed and reformed the too rigorous structures of English fashion by revolutionizing the Neapolitan jacket.
