Verified profile

Presented in Boetti's debut exhibition at the Christian Stein gallery in Turin in 1967, the work was placed with absolute autonomy in the context of other works equally independent and closed in on themselves. To the choice of an elementary material, Boetti matches an equally simple shape, able to visualize the thrust caused inside the roll by the action of winding the cardboard on itself. The lack of internal relations and metaphorical references guaranteeing this and other works by Boetti of 1966-1967, committed only to manifesting their existence, can be counted among the first texts of Arte Povera.
