The Coppola Foundation is pleased to present in the spaces of the Torrione di Porta Castello the exhibition in two parts HM, HE, HA curated by Elena Volpato and Davide Ferri.

The second part features a dialogue between Luca Bertolo and Manuele Cerutti.

The title HM, HE, HA is made up of small exclamations that often underline, almost unconsciously, the first view of a work of art, expressing reflection, surprise, perplexity, or questioning. Julian Barnes, an author loved by the artists in the exhibition and the two curators, gave that title to one of his lectures, recalling how Edgar Degas believed those exclamations were all that made sense to say in front of a painting, judging any other comment as unnecessary.

In any case, beneath the title HM, HE, HA it says "an exhibition in two parts", and this, which brings together and puts into dialogue the paintings of Luca Bertolo and Manuele Cerutti, is indeed the second part. The first part was the one that saw the works of Michele Tocca and Pesce Khete side by side on each floor of the Torrione.

The exhibition of Bertolo and Cerutti works in two ways: as an opportunity for the two artists to identify connections and recurrences in their works, but also to stitch together the entire path of the exhibition, the dialogue not only between the two, but all four artists. This is why the four paintings, sort of self-portraits that each one has created, are still there, side by side, welcoming the visitor at the entrance of the Torrione.
