In the wake of the success of the traditional appointment From knowledge to taste, the Foundation proposes, on Saturday 2 February at 3.30 pm, 50 shades of ruby. Colors and aromas between miniatures and goblets.
The appointment includes a visit to some manuscripts of the Library, each associated with a wine produced by the Cantina Sociale della Serra di Piverone. An event linked to the stories of books and the vine, following their natural essences. The wine comes from a plant that collects every single substance present from the ground, proposing in the glass the characteristics of the terroir of origin, through the colors, smells and flavors. Medieval manuscripts were made using inks, pigments, lacquers, binders and dyes: all mostly vegetable and mineral substances, selected for their characteristics and to last over time, keeping the transmission of knowledge intact.
Participants will therefore be given the opportunity to learn about the manuscripts of the Capitular Library and the raw materials used for their writing and decoration, tasting three paired wines, representative of the territory and the vineyards from which the grapes come.
50 shades of ruby is an event organized in collaboration with the Cantina Sociale della Serra, located on the southern slope of the moraine hill of the Serra, founded in 1953, which today has 250 members located in 18 municipalities. The winemaker, sommelier and vice president Marcello Borsetto will talk to us about the wines of the winery. On February 2nd, the Museo del Tesoro del Duomo will be the scene of a riot of colors and aromas to discover an unusual perfect combination. The appointment, including visit and tasting, will cost € 15.00.
Places for the event are limited and it is necessary to register, by February 1st, by writing to [email protected] or by calling 0161 51650.
