Prada Foundation of Venice

The Prada Foundation of Venice is housed in the splendid rooms of Palazzo Corner di San Cassiano .

The Venetian palace located in the Santa Croce district and overlooking the Grand Canal. It stands on the ruins of the Gothic building in which Caterina Cornaro, the future Queen of Cyprus, was born in 1454. The architectural style recalls the nearby Ca 'Pesaro designed by Baldassare Longhena. The frescoes on the first noble floor represent some episodes from the life of Caterina Cornaro.

Ca 'Corner della Regina is structured on three main levels: the ground floor and two noble floors. An attic and two mezzanines, located between the ground floor and the first floor, complete the building. The façade on the Grand Canal is characterized by a facing in Istrian stone and an ashlar that extends from the ground floor to the mezzanine. Inside, two spectacular symmetrical stairs, aligned with the water entrance, connect the atrium to the second mezzanine. The two noble floors house imposing porteghi decorated with stuccoes and frescoes. The Prada Foundation hosts temporary exhibitions with internationally renowned artists.
