The Cloisters of San Pietro are the most extraordinary monumental complex in Reggio Emilia, one of the most evocative of the Italian Renaissance, with a shape that bears the unmistakable hand of Giulio Romano.
It is an ancient monastery used over the centuries in the most disparate ways and then remained inaccessible, in the historic center of the city, until its rediscovery and public recovery.
The impressive restoration work of the central body and annexed spaces, financed with Por Fesr funds, has made it possible to return the Cloisters of San Pietro to the city as a cultural center of international importance. The birth of the Open Laboratory projects them into the contemporary world, to give life to a place of participation and discussion, of sociability and open and widespread innovation.
