From 13 September to 24 November 2025
The Gallerie dell'Accademia are pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition Tristano di Robilant. InAcademia, curated by Cristina Beltrami. The exhibition will open on Saturday, September 13th on the occasion of The Venice Glass Week 2025, featuring twelve glass sculptures created by the artist in open dialogue with the history and collection of the museum, placed on the ground floor, first floor, and in the Palladian courtyard.
Tristano di Robilant. InAcademia is a project that stems from a careful study of the museum's collection and spaces, in the awareness of its extraordinary uniqueness. Tristano di Robilant (London, 1964) has crossed the threshold with an attitude highly attentive to the construction of collections and the architectural events of the building, placing his sculptures according to a principle of exchange with the surroundings: the glass works become a sort of visual stumbling block that, like lenses strategically placed within the museum's path, invite a "different" reflection and reading of the museum's masterpieces.
The twelve exhibited sculptures - all created in Murano at the Anfora glassworks thanks to the past experience of master Andrea Zilio and now of Andrea Salvagno - are purely abstract forms that elude sharp angles and, in their sinuous flow, seem to settle in space. The literary inspiration underlying the exhibition comes from the artist's passion for poetry, but also from the deep conviction that glass is not a "deaf" material, and is capable of evoking moods and thoughts.
