For the 18th edition of the Giornata del Contemporaneo, promoted by AMACI - Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums with the support of the General Direction for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture, the International Gallery of Modern Art of Ca 'Pesaro presents the exhibition " The Beatitudes "with works by Laura Omacini .

Selected in 2021 by Ca 'Pesaro for the Level 0 Award of ArtVerona, Laura Omacini wanted to create for the Project room on the ground floor of the Museum a new series of works around a subject deeply linked to the city of Venice, which for years she has documented through photographs, sketches and notes.

The scaffolding, with their climbing around the buildings, their veils and camouflages, are treated as a characteristic element of the city landscape, whose balance requires continuous care and attention. Presences at the same time beneficial and invasive, constant and impermanent, these constructions are extrapolated from the urban context and reported on collages that collect fragments of images taken from local magazines and newspapers, transforming themselves into containing membranes of a story of the present, among whose ripples we can glimpse a series of connections and symbolic references.The tension between the thickness of the collage and the surface of the pictorial film, together with the contrast between the opacity of the lights and the transparency of the shadows, recreates an aquatic movement that breaks down and deforms the vision, uniting the backdrop to the reflections of the sky. Thus compositions originate that simultaneously recall the intimacy of the home, of the care, of the daily gesture, and the otherness of the world, its interference, its generative chaos, opening up to a multiplicity of different interpretations and readings.
