From 9 May to 24 November 2019
The exhibition, curated by Charlotte Cotton with the scientific direction of Gabriella Belli, brings together more than thirty images and still life dedicated to the world of fashion and taken from an archive of over two decades of photographic activity. “Me and Fashion” is a dynamic interaction between the artist's photographs and the 17th and 18th century architecture and furnishings of the building.
The meeting takes place in the once private environments of the Mocenigo family, marked by an alternation between intimate and impressive spaces with which Brigitte Niedermair dialogues, responding to the specific atmosphere of each room and inserting her tableaux of fashion and still life photos , with a powerful installation intention.
With a refined charm and formal elegance, Brigitte Niedermair's shots interact with the atmosphere and with the works in each room. The artist has selected and removed several paintings from the Mocenigo collection, replacing them with his images that interact with the space in a poetic, sometimes provocative way, creating a short-circuit around the theme of identity and gender.
