Saturday, October 12 from 4 pm to 8 pm Fondazione 107 inaugurates Tomorrow in the battle think of me  a site-specific project by the sculptor Carlo D’Oria, curated by Roberto Mastroianni.

The exhibition focuses on a series of works created between 2023 and 2024 by the sculptor Carlo D’Oria (Turin, 1970), which stage an exploration of the forms and conditions of human existence, both individual and collective, in these times of significant social, cultural, and environmental changes, investigating the connections and relationships that this condition maintains with the past, memory, and archetypal figures of our culture.

The common thread that holds together the works on display can be found in the forms that human life takes in the rugged landscape of our era, characterized by a strong sense of transience, which is illuminated with curious kaleidoscopic effects starting from the representative and iconic force of abstract figurations and materials used by the artist to explore specific elements of our contemporary imaginary and interpersonal relationships characterized by tensions, contradictions, bonds, and symbolic responsibilities that connect human beings to their personal and collective history.

"Tomorrow in the battle think of me / and let your sword fall without edge. Despair and die!" is a Shakespearean verse (from Richard III's dream, in IV, 3) that becomes the guiding image of the exhibition, indicating the relationship we maintain with the imaginary and archetypal figures of our culture that often appear as "ghosts" capable of shaping our present, our cultural perception, and our intersubjective dimension.

Famous for becoming the title of one of Javier Marias's most important novels, this Shakespearean verse highlights in the artist's works the poetic and minimal dimension that runs through all his production, restoring the narrative, iconic, and imaginative dimension of his works.
