From June 6 to August 26, 2025, the Chapel of the Shroud at the Royal Museums of Turin hosts Oculus-Spei, a multimedia installation by Annalaura di Luggo.

The exhibition, curated by Ivan D’Alberto, promoted by the Royal Museums and the Diocesan Museum of Turin, has received the moral endorsement of the Jubilee 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the Ministry of Justice.

The Chapel of the Shroud– a monument that houses one of the symbols of Christianity and universal spirituality – opens up to contemporary art, welcoming a project that intertwines technology, art, and faith. In this sacred space, where the Shroud stands as a concrete sign of redemption, Oculus-Spei proposes a profound message: hope as a positive force that allows us to face every challenge and difficulty.

The interactive multimedia work of the Neapolitan artist revolves around five ideal Holy Doors, in front of which the visitor is invited to knock physically. Beyond the first four Doors, the audience encounters people with disabilities, from the four corners of the world: men and women who bear witness to strength and resilience. A light descending from abovepasses through them, opening a passage in their hearts and their gaze: indeed, the eye has always been for Annalaura di Luggo the key to accessing the deepest part of the human soul.

The fifth Door, inspired by that of Rebibbia prison, opened by Pope Francis as a sign of welcome and mercy, represents the most intimate and transformative moment of the journey. The visitor, captured in real time, finds themselves in a symbolic cage, evoking all forms of imprisonment, precariousness, and vulnerability. And it is precisely in this condition of "confinement" that the light reappears, suggesting a possible inner liberation through hope.
