EXPOSED Torino Photo Festival (April 16 - June 2) announces the two exhibitions, produced for the festival, in collaboration with OGR Torino and CAMERA - Italian Center for Photography in Turin. These are Almost Real. From Trace to Simulation, curated by Samuele Piazza and Salvatore Vitale, at Platform 2 of OGR Torino and Olga Cafiero. Cultus Langarum, at CAMERA - Italian Center for Photography in Turin, curated by Giangavino Pazzola.

"Beneath the Surface" is the theme of the second edition of the Festival, organized by the Turin Culture Foundation, under the guidance of artistic directors Menno Liauw andSalvatore Vitale, and promoted by City of Turin, Piedmont Region, Turin Chamber of Commerce, Intesa Sanpaolo, Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation and CRT Foundation in synergy with the Foundation for Modern and Contemporary Art CRT. Twelve exhibitions, both solo and collective, 16 artists from 12 countries (Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, Switzerland, United States, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Bolivia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Palestine), 7 prestigious exhibition venues (Albertina Academy of Fine Arts, State Archives, CAMERA - Italian Center for Photography, Gallerie d'Italia - Turin, GAM - Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art, OGR Torino, and Palazzo Carignano): these are the highlights of EXPOSED Torino Photo Festival, which presents an international overview of the latest trends in contemporary photography.

The festival theme invites to explore realities and hidden contents beneath the surface of images, not only those captured by the artists' lenses, but also those generated, transformed, retouched, through increasingly advanced and interconnected technologies. It is within this context that the collective exhibition moves, opening on April 16 at Platform 2 of OGR Torino, titled Almost Real. From Trace to Simulation, curated by Samuele Piazza, Senior Curator of OGR Torino, and Salvatore Vitale, one of the festival's artistic directors, featuring the shots and works of Lawrence Lek, Nora Al-Badri, and Alan Butler. From the relationship between video games and photography to the role of memory in museums, up to the boundary between artificial intelligence and consciousness, the exhibition questions the very concept of authenticity and truth, also imagining the future implications of AI-generated images.
