The show

Thanks to the exhibition prize awarded on the occasion of the LXII Termoli Prize 2020-2021 , from 20 October 2022 to 29 January 2023 Renato Leotta (Turin, 1982) is the protagonist at the MACTE Museum of Contemporary Art in Termoli of the personal exhibition La Soglia curated by Caterina Riva .

One year after its assignment, the prize brings to the museum the project by Renato Leotta, dedicated, in the artist's words, "to that space of time between land, sea and sky", to the beach understood as "a long margin indefinite, in which forces act that set the poetic narration in motion ”, a limine between worlds.

Through a series of filmic and sculptural works exhibited in the exhibition, Leotta proposes “a story through images, sensations and works, of landings, departures and stasis in which time and the self become one”. As often in the artist's poetics, these are works that lead the public to an elsewhere in which there is a universal coexistence of rituals, symbols, gestures.

For the occasion, Leotta will spend time near the Adriatic sea arm between the city of Termoli and the Tremiti islands to carry out a work on the spot, and will select some works from the collection of the Termoli Prize that will be exhibited in conjunction with her personal exhibition. at the exhibition, the prize also includes the publication of a catalog.
