The De Chiara De Maio Foundation concludes the first cycle of the contemporary art exhibition Colori with the exhibition The beautiful stage by Marco Gallotta.
The seventeen works on display are all made of leather, the use of which in artistic production is a stimulating aspect of our activity, as it allows us to observe the successful intersection between industry and culture , as can be read from the intervention of the president Diodato De Maio in the catalog combined with exposure. The site specific exhibition is curated by Valerio Falcone.
The beautiful stage refers to the life stages of the butterfly, an element that appears in Gallotta's research as a symbol of rebirth, of life lived to the fullest, in the present. The many details of the works invite the observers to linger on the depths, going beyond the surfaces. Through the surgical incision of the skin clippings, Gallotta shows us the pure essence of the subjects.
This exhibition is the last of the first year of Colori . The cultural program took the form of an interesting experiment in bringing the Internal Areas closer to contemporary art. The De Chiara De Maio Foundation and the tireless curator Valerio Falcone are already working to continue this project. The programming of the second edition is already in the pipeline and will be communicated shortly. It is therefore not an initiative for its own sake but a long-term commitment in favor of culture.
The exhibition can be visited until 29 August 2023.
