In the Room of Modern and Ancient Art of the De Chiara De Maio Foundation you will find the installation Who is like God? Angels in Baroque painting.
The exhibition features various depictions of angels and cherubs by various artists during the Baroque period.
Angels, ethereal and divine beings, are enchanting figures that evoke a feeling of beauty and serenity. They are often depicted in artwork as a sublime marriage of human appearance and their celestial state.
Their faces, serene and timeless, emit an aura of peace and wisdom. Their eyes, sometimes reachable only through an inner gaze, convey a deep love and compassion.
The clothes they wear are soft and light, like a mist that envelops their body. This evanescent cloak symbolizes their celestial nature and their connection to the divine.
They represent the very essence of divine grace. Their intrinsic beauty, patience and kindness are a reflection of a higher reality, capable of inspiring and nourishing the human soul. When our eyes meet their vision, we are enveloped in a feeling of peace and infinite love.
Now at that time Michael will arise, the great prince, who watches over the children of your people. There will be a time of distress, such as there has never been since the rise of nations until that time; at that time your people will be saved, whoever is found written in the book.
