The Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery is the main museum of the town of Shrewbury and the entire county, it is part of the Shropshire Museums. It is proudly located in the town square. The museum offers a full program of diverse activities including courses, school workshops, film screenings, weekly children's groups, holiday activities and amazing one-of-a-kind events inspired by our temporary exhibition program. Most of the objects exhibited here were donated by the community. The museum tells the history and past of the area, in total the Shropshire Museums house about 300,000 objects, from the most particular such as fossilized raindrops and Queen Victoria's stockings to the most common ones. Unfortunately, due to the limited exhibition space, not all exhibits can be viewed at the same time.
