From 29 October to 30 November 2024
On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, the Aboca Museum will inaugurate The Witches' Herbs, a temporary exhibition of ancient herbariums dedicated to the specific category of psychoactive plants, often lethal and characterized by strong toxicity. Through a rich iconographic path installed along the historical route "Herbs and Health through the Centuries," it will be possible to discover the numerous herbs used in magical rituals, known for the psychotic effects they induce in our organism. The exhibition will delve into the curiosities and effects of botanical species known as narcotics and hallucinogens, such as datura, aconite, or belladonna, as well as the so-called devil's herbs, St. John's wort, wormwood, and rue, enveloped in ancient magical symbolism.
