Arundells, in Salisbury, was the home of Sir Edward Heath KG MBE, prime minister and statesman. Today it is a museum house that has almost maintained the original appearance and style of when it was inhabited by Edward himself. He bequeathed to Arundells all the collection kept in the house. He strongly wanted everyone to "share the beauty of Arundells" and enjoy not only its artwork but also its photographs, nautical memorabilia and political cartoons. Sir Edward was known for the eclectic personality that can also be found in his collection: paintings by Churchill and Sargent, Chinese pottery by Chairman Mao, David Lloyd George's desk and memorabilia from Nixon and Castro are on display in Arundells. In addition to them, his art collection includes works by artists such as WL Wyllie, LS Lowry, John Nash, John Piper, Walter Sickert and both Augustus and Gwen John. Sailing trophies, photographs, ceramics, models of warships made by Napoleonic prisoners of war and musical relics. Japanese woodcuts and spectacular hand-painted Chinese wallpaper depicting the story of the "Monkey King". In the Drawing Room there is the Steinway grand piano and in the corridor the scale models of all the Morning Cloud yachts.
