Rovereto Civic Museum Foundation

The Rovereto Civic Museum is one of the oldest Italian museums, founded as a private company in 1851. Since 2013 it has become a Foundation and manages two exhibition venues, the Museum of Science and Archeology (with the Planetarium and the first LEGO Education Innovation Studio Italy) and the City Museum.

It is an organization spread across the territory thanks to structures such as the astronomical observatory at over 1600 meters above sea level on Mount Zugna and Sperimentarea, the citadel of science in the Bosco della Città di Rovereto. There are many activities that can be done especially on weekends, even for families, in particular shows at the Planetarium and robotics lessons or evenings or afternoons of sky observation at the Observatory, but also visits to sites such as the paleontological site of the Footprints of the Dinosaurs at the Lavini di Marco, one of the most important in Europe, or at the fortified settlement of the Island of Sant'Andrea in Loppio di Mori or at the botanical garden of Brentonico.

The Civic Museum Foundation has been organizing the RAM film festival since 1990, an annual film festival dedicated to cultural heritage (formerly called Rassegna Internazionale del Cinema Archeologico di Rovereto) and is the Italian Operational Partner for the international science and robotics event FIRST ® LEGO® League.
