Rovereto Civic Museum Foundation

The Civic Museum of Rovereto is one of the oldest Italian museums, founded as a private company in 1851. Since 2013 it has become a Foundation and manages two exhibition venues, the Science and Archeology Museum (with the Planetarium and the first LEGO Education Innovation Studio d' Italy) and the City Museum.

It is a body spread throughout the territory thanks to structures such as the Astronomical Observatory at over 1600 meters above sea level on Monte Zugna and Sperimentarea, the citadel of science in the Woods of the City of Rovereto. There are many activities that can be attended especially during the weekend, also for families, in particular the shows at the Planetarium and robotics lessons or the evenings or afternoons of observation of the sky at the Observatory, but also visits to sites such as the palaeontological site of the dinosaur footprints at Lavini di Marco, one of the most important in Europe, or at the fortified settlement on the island of Sant'Andrea at Loppio di Mori or at the Brentonico botanical garden.

Since 1990, the Civic Museum Foundation has organized the RAM film festival, an annual film festival dedicated to cultural heritage (formerly called the Rovereto International Archaeological Film Festival) and is the Italian Operational Partner for the FIRST ® LEGO® League international science and robotics event.
