The Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions of Rome is the only state museum in Italy with specific skills in the field of demo-ethno-anthropological subjects, and it preserves over one hundred thousand documents of popular traditions from all Italian regions, acquired from 1906 to today, following the collection coordinated by Lamberto Loria for the 1911 International Exposition promoted to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the unification of Italy. The path of the Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions is divided into 3 major thematic areas: The land and resources, Living and living, Rites, parties and ceremonies. In the first section, The land and resources, issues relating to transport, agricultural and pastoral work, seafaring and craft work are dealt with; in the second, Vivere e abitare, the domestic world appears with its furnishings, everyday gestures, the phases of the cycle of human life. The third section, Rites, festivals and ceremonies, describes the various ceremonies, music, games and shows, traditional clothes and ornaments.
