From 1 July to 25 October 2020
The Young Architects Program, launched and coordinated by MoMA, reaches its 8th edition at MAXXI.
Each year, the YAP selects a studio of young architects to whom to entrust the project to create a summer event space in each of the participating museums in different countries. The five finalists for each city are collected in a single exhibition exhibited in the institutions involved.
The finalists are: Ateliermob (Portugal - Andreia Salavessa, Mariana Robalo, Carolina Batlle Y Font, Rita Mansinho and Tiago Mota Saraiva); Breathe Earth Collective (Austria - Karlheinz Boiger, Lisa Maria Enzenhofer, Andreas Goritschnig, Markus Jeschaunig, Bernhard König); Ecòl (Italy - Emanuele Barili, Cosimo Balestri, Olivia Gori); Gnomone (Italy - Federica Andreoni, Mattia Biagi, Annachiara Bonora, Valerio Socciarelli); Lucy Styles (England).
At the end of June, the winners of the Italian Architecture Prize organized by MAXXI and the Milan Triennale are announced. The awarded works are exhibited with the finalists of YAP, whose winner is also awarded the prize of the young designers section of the Italian Prize.
