The painting by Pablo Picasso Fruit, plate, bottle and violin from 1914, owned by the National Gallery in London, has arrived at the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art.

The painting will be exhibited in Rome until January as part of the celebrations for the 200th anniversary of the National Gallery. Picasso's work has been loaned in exchange for Vincent van Gogh's painting "L'Arlésienne" (Portrait of Madame Ginoux) from the Gnam, which flew across the Channel to participate in the exhibition "Van Gogh: Poets and Lovers".

The Gnam dedicates a room to the great artist Pablo Picasso where 5 other works will be exhibited: "Dream and Lie of Franco", Plate I 1937; "Dream and Lie of Franco", Plate II 1937; "Bacchanal with Minotaur" from 1933; "Model at the Easel" (Jacqueline at the Easel) 1956; Pablo Picasso, "Stylized Head in Oval".
