From 2 April to 20 September 2026
The project takes its cue from a distinctive trait of Italian culture: the peculiar ability to respond to tragedy with irony.
Through the lens of the tragicomic, the exhibition tells how many Italian artists have used comedy, self-irony, and paradox as tools of criticism and as an antidote to tragedy.
Tragicomica explores these themes within cultural production broadly, also involving cinema, theater, architecture, literature, and philosophy.
In collaboration with the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève.
