From 15 October to 13 November 2022
An urgent call for collective inspiration and joint creative effort, Repairing the Present promotes the dialogue between science, technology and art as key players in the exploration of new scenarios for ecosystem improvement. Thus the series of exhibitions Repairing the Present: REWORLD (at MEET | Digital Culture Center) ,: REWILD (at MAXXI),: RETOOL (at ZKM: Zentrum für Kunst und Medien), presents collective responses guided by art to current emergencies and future and critical social, environmental and technological transformations.
Beyond the visceral need of: REWILD to restore feral models in domesticated ecosystems, this assemblage emphasizes the contamination between natural and synthetic, between artificial and organic, between animal and mineral, artificial and organic, animal and mineral, towards renewed forms of becoming in the Anthropocene.
The driving force behind: REWILD is the urgent need to decolonize nature but also future ecosystems that are still in the terraforming phase. With dowsing, the search for a reconnection with the non-human, the mapping of the dynamics of lichens or the twisted paths of urban waste, the artists on display invite active forms of engagement with the earth, the biotope and the outer space.
