The understanding of love has undergone significant transformations in recent years. In an era marked by digital and technological advances, discussions about gender identities and challenges to traditional family structures have finally taken center stage. The concept of love is now subject to critical reconsideration, with attention to its deep roots in the capitalist social structure. Faced with certain states that limit the rights of same-sex couples or recriminalize abortion, LGBTQ+ communities, in particular, are increasingly vocal in their resistance against rigid heteronormative ideals and legal constraints. They support alternative forms of sexual and emotional intimacy, as well as care networks. The politics of love includes not only how we love, but also who we love. This group exhibition brings together artists who use different media to explore various facets of this complex topic.
On the evening of March 21st, our neighborhood neighbor, the MACRO – Museum of Contemporary Art Rome will open the doors to four new exhibitions in its exhibition rooms. An opportunity to make a double visit between the MACRO and the Swiss Institute!
