From 15 March to 14 April 2019
Curated by Domitilla Dardi
Research and experimentation are the keywords of the consolidated partnership between MAXXI and Alcantara which, born in 2011, has also been renewed in its contents since last year. In fact, the exhibitions become monographic and every year an established designer is invited to interpret the MAXXI collections. In 2019 it is the turn of Formafantasma, a studio composed of the duo of Italian designers based in Amsterdam Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin. Nominated among the 20 best international design studios, their works have been exhibited in major museums around the world and are in the collections of the MoMA in New York. For the MAXXI, Formafantasma sets up a space inspired by Pier Luigi Nervi, where visitors can enter and move, a place to showcase the result of their interpretation of the collection. The installation will become part of the MAXXI collection.
