From 28 September to 18 November 2018
Curated by Britta Färber
First solo exhibition in Europe by Caline Aoun, winner of the Deutsche Bank's Artist of the Year 2018-2019 award.
Caline Aoun's work stems from an alternation of abstract and concrete, physical and digital, and explores concepts that are difficult to portray. The artist, who lives and works between Beirut and London, has the ability to transform what is invisible and immaterial into images, installations, videos. 2 A distinctive feature of the exhibition, designed specifically for the spaces of the Gian Ferrari Gallery of MAXXI, is precisely this alternation of an abstract soul, which is expressed through works that suggest the idea of transience, of movement, of the cyclical transformation of reality, and a concrete soul linked to the physicality of the museum environments involved and transformed by the artist's intervention.
