From 1 October to 10 October 2021
For the first time, a focus dedicated to the archive of one of the most important critic, intellectual and writer of the last half century, who died at eighty-seven in 2017.
Boatto accompanied the research of many artists today present in the museum collection (Boetti, Kounellis, Fioroni, Pascali, Pozzati and many others) by building an original path through some decisive moments of the culture of the '900.
Donated to MAXXI in 2018 by his wife and son, the Boatto Fund contains a rich nucleus of manuscripts that trace his entire professional activity and the most important publications, bringing together handwritten papers, typescripts, personal correspondence and photographic, audio and video material. Boatto's private library enriches the donation, with some very rare first editions.
