EXPRESSIONS is a multi-year program of exhibitions and research that began in 2020 and will continue until the beginning of 2023. The collective exhibition EXPRESSIONS WITH FRACTIONS opens at Castello di Rivoli on 24 April 2022 .
EXPRESSIONS WITH FRACTIONS will unfold on the first and second floors of the historic rooms of the Castle, in the spaces of the Manica Lunga, in the gardens and in the Theater of the Castle, at Villa Cerruti and at the Casa del Conte Verde in Rivoli. EXPRESSIONS WITH FRACTIONS refers to the fractured and fractional aspect of contemporary life, at a time when art is experienced against the backdrop of extremely diverse events such as the digital revolution, pandemics and war. The exhibition investigates the multiple forms of expressiveness, expression and expressionisms that run through the histories of art and societies.
“This exhibition brings together many contemporary visions of what it means to be human today in a posthuman world and what the human condition is today. For the first time artists from the world of traditional art and the new world of NFT digital art – from Beeple to Julie Mehretu to Richard Bell and more come together through their works and in person in conversation.”
The exhibition itinerary will activate new dialogues, emphasizing the multiple ways in which artists, in different temporal and geographical areas, express their emotional states and bodily sensations. The exhibition includes painting, sculpture, installation, collage, video and performance, leading to digital art projects.
