Inaugurated in May 2019, on the occasion of the opening to the public of the Cerruti Collection, the program of contemporary art commissions in homage to this extraordinary collection continues with a second chapter. Unpublished works by Ed Atkins , Alex Cecchetti , Nalini Malani and Michael Rakowitz join the works of Anna Boghiguian , Camille Henrot , Liu Ding , Giulio Paolini , Giuseppe Penone , Susan Philipsz and Seth Price , presented in May in the first chapter of the series.
Interested in the invisible side of the collection - in the collector's “desire” - Alex Cecchetti creates a delicate basting in which his paintings are sewn together like precious fabrics. These portray some "weeds" of the garden of the villa that houses the Cerruti Collection, actually sensual plants and flowers, with important healing properties.
