The Villa Franceschi Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery was founded in 2005 in an early 20th century Art Nouveau villa. Villa Francesch, extremely fascinating for the attention to detail and the harmony of the whole, was an elegant seaside residence built in the first decade of the last century, now carefully restored and prepared for the new museum function. The Museum preserves the civic art collection, composed of contemporary art works mainly by artists active in the area and the Arcangeli Collection which collects works by post-war Italian artists such as Alberto Burri, Vincenzo Satta and Ennio Morlotti, and which dedicates a particular pay attention to the Po area. In addition to the permanent collections, Villa Franceschi hosts temporary exhibitions, cultural activities and in-depth cycles of the different languages linked to contemporaneity.
