The fifteenth-century spaces of Palazzo da Mosto in Reggio Emilia host, from December 7, 2024 to March 2, 2025, the exhibition Encantadas by Davide Benati, which retraces a fifty-year artistic adventure through a selection of historical works and numerous unpublished ones, a testimony of a constant search that has its roots in the eighties and continues today with renewed momentum and determination.

After exhibitions at the Musei Civici (1992) and Palazzo Magnani (2003), the artist returns to exhibit in his hometown with a new project, curated by Walter Guadagnini and promoted by the Fondazione Palazzo Magnani. The solo exhibition takes its title - Encandatas - from the homonymous painting series, created in recent years.

The solo exhibition at Palazzo da Mosto opens with the production from the early eighties, which brought Benati to fame and laid the foundation for his subsequent work: large watercolors on Nepalese paper of refined sensitivity, ethereal images that combine East and West, dream and reality. The exhibition then presents a selection of works created between the nineties and the beginning of the new millennium: large works where the practice of diptych and triptych emerges as primary.

The journey, composed of about fifty works from public and private collections and the artist's studio, concludes with a series of large unpublished triptychs, which testify to Benati's continued inspiration and his extraordinary use of light and color.
