The exhibition aims to show the complex Italian artistic fabric in one of the most fruitful periods of transformation of the country. The "Reconstruction" and the "Contestation" are in fact not just two chronological poles within which the idea of Modernity unfolds, declined in the Italian way, but they are two cultural indications, they already show an arc of development of ideas and customs that have brought Italy to the international limelight, both as an economy and as a culture.

For this reason the intentions of the curator Marco Meneguzzo are to highlight the climate, the atmosphere, the fabric, even more than the exhibition of a series of cornerstones of Italian art between the '45 and the '70s. Divided into sections that not only follow the traditional trend but prefer to evoke contexts in which different trends might also be encountered, the exhibition makes use exclusively of works from the Intesa Sanpaolo collections, kindly lent for the occasion.
