From October 26, 2024 to January 19, 2025, the National Gallery of Umbria in Perugia hosts the exhibition The Golden Age. The golden masterpieces of the National Gallery of Umbria meet Contemporary Art, curated by Alessandra Mammì, Veruska Picchiarelli, and Carla Scagliosi, after the preview in reduced form at Ca' d'Oro, during the Venice Biennale. The exhibition path, composed of 50 works, presents some of the golden masterpieces of the National Gallery of Umbria, created by Duccio di Boninsegna, Gentile da Fabriano, Taddeo di Bartolo, Niccolò di Liberatore, Bernardino di Mariotto, the Master of the Farneto Triptych, Bartolomeo Caporali, and others, in dialogue with works by great masters of contemporary art such as Carla Accardi, Alberto Burri, Mario Ceroli, Gino De Dominicis, Jannis Kounellis, Marisa Merz, Mimmo Paladino, Michelangelo Pistoletto, and Andy Warhol, capable of creating a truly unique path that, in the name of the use of gold, sees works that, for technical, aesthetic, and conceptual resonances, propose new comparisons, suggestions, and perspectives, opening up new horizons of interpretation.
